Life is wild! I’m over here thinking again, which is always a wild adventure. 😂
Last week, a kiddo told me she was scared because kids at school were talking about what might happen after the election. I kept thinking about that conversation, and it made me ask myself a question.
What do I place my faith in?
Elections have been part of life for as long as I can remember. And I know how easy it is to scroll through the news and walk away more afraid than I was five minutes ago. But I’ve also sat face-to-face with political leaders. You know what? They’re HUMANS. They have fears and hopes, just like the rest of us.
That kiddo reminded me that the way we talk about what scares us can shape how the people around us feel, especially the kids who are listening.
It reminded me of how Fear is contagious. Guess what, Hope is too. 💜
Which one do we want to spread?
I know some of my fellow Texans are feeling uneasy after the election. Whatever you’re carrying today, there’s still good to see and good we can do right here where we live.
Name one thing you’re grateful for. Check on somebody who’s having a hard week. Look your neighbor in the eye and ask how they’re doing, then stay long enough to hear the answer.
I want to fling seeds of hope all over this Texas soil. I keep picturing what might grow if we tended that same patch of ground together, red and blue alike. A whole field of royal purple, right here in the land we share. 💜 If we work together…it can be beautiful.
Even when you’re hurting, you might have a little hope to share. I also want you to know if you’re the one who needs some today, I pray somebody sits with you long enough for you to feel a little less alone.
Love you, friends. I’m praying for peace for all both tall and tiny. I know where I find it…I can share if you are needing it to.
